Design Concept

Urban Pin's design concept recognises the influence of everyday objects on human interactions within indoor spaces. It originated from the observation of behaviours that are shaped and reshaped by the objects we use in indoor spaces, and aims to explore how the relationship between the object and the body varies from space to space through the use of non-indoor objects as street furniture.

With inspiration from the furnitures and indoor items. that craft a home-like sense within urban environments, the hybrid designs incorporate elements such as seating, shelves, and furniture-inspired features to evoke a sense of warmth and domestic comfort in the urban environment.

Integration of Urban Acupuncture Theory

Urban Pin's approach embraces the idea of Urban Acupuncture that small-scale interventions can have a significant impact on the overall urban experience.

By activating the pass-way points with designed street furniture elements, Urban Pin aims to spark positive change, foster social connections, and promote a sense of community, turning these spaces from mere passageways into destinations worth stopping and exploring.
