PROPITAT
PROPITAT is a conceptual model generator that proposes a critical approach to contemporary habitation design by envisioning a different social system:
a hyper habitat with non-human species.

PROPITAT offers eight generated artefacts.
At the beginning of the generation process the user can select the model that suits their future needs.

With each run of the PROPITAT generator, the generator will produce a result based on the user's options,  each responding to a different climate scenario that may arise in the near future and design to be able to withstand specific emerging crises.

At the end of the generation process, the system will guide the user to the future location that awaits them and locate their digital habitat to be named.

The generator is operated by the Wave Function Collapse algorithm (WFC),  a versatile programme generation technique that can generate complex 2D patterns and 3D models.
In the generator, the algorithm will first analyse a small set of input patterns (tiles), establish initial rules and constraints for the generator, and then create complex structures using predefined rules.

PROPITAT’s design is inspired by termite mounds, their dynamic and self-repairing structures demostrate remarkable resilience in harsh environments and contribute to the fertility of barren land. Termite mounds not only serve as inspiration for architectural designs, both vernacular and modern, but also provide valuable resources within nature and human culture.

The generated result presents as a metaphor, reflecting the implications of environmental design across its multiple ecological and political dimensions while showcasing different species' wisdom in coexisting with nature, reminding us the origins of dwelling are deeply intertwined with nature.
